Introduction To Secondary I Mathematics

The English Montreal School Board will once again offer a summer school course called Introduction to Secondary I Mathematics as a tool to help students improve their elementary math skills and prepare them for high school math topics in September. In the past, we have found that many students have benefitted from this program and this has resulted in higher grades and greater success at the high school level. This program is also offered in light of the growing importance of Mathematics in the high school curriculum.
Skills
This summer course will reinforce basic math skills which are important for success in high school. Students will review all math concepts to better understand and strengthen their knowledge. Students will also be introduced to fundamental concepts from the Secondary Cycle I, Year 1 Mathematics program to prepare them for greater success. Special emphasis will be placed on problem solving and basic skills training.
Entrance Requirements
This Mathematics course is open to all students who will be entering Secondary Cycle I, Year 1 in September 2019.

8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Registration
Parents must register in person on June 26th between 9:00 am and 3:00 p.m. at Laurier MacDonald High School. Please check the Eligibility Criteria, Course Fees and Payment option
Late Registration
Late registration will take place on July 4, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. An additional $25.00 will be charged for late registration.

Refunds
There will be no refunds except in the case where the course is cancelled.
Evaluation
There is no final examination for this program and no marks will be assigned. A descriptive report will be issued to parents.
