Financial Literacy Course

This is the first year for a new course in financial literacy at the Secondary V level. Students are addressing issues such as credit scores, loans, making a budget and signing a cell phone contract. Students will learn about consumption, debt, purchasing power and savings, as well as employment, compensation, taxation, and financing education. There will also be material covering legal information, such as consumer rights and responsibilities, employment laws and labour regulations. The new course (PDF) is being slotted into  social sciences (with subjects like history and geography).
